Matthew Clark
Matthew Clark President and CEO

Matthew Clark, President and CEO

As chief executive officer, Mr. Clark is responsible for the company’s overall strategy and direction. Recognized among the Worcester (MA) Business Journal’s “2009 40 Under 40,” Matt earned a BS degree in professional chemistry from Bridgewater (MA) State College. Prior to launching TMC, he was lab director at Evergreen Construction Co., Inc., and president of Evergreen Enviro, Inc.

Matt’s environmental services experience encompasses commercial site development, construction, remediation technologies, chemical process technologies, and transportation and disposal issues. He has completed hundreds of remedial actions, from removal of residential underground storage tanks to decommissioning and closing major manufacturing facilities.

A former conservation commissioner in his hometown of Bellingham, Massachusetts, Matt is a committee member and fundraiser for the Milford Regional Medical Center.

Thomas Clark

Thomas Clark, Executive Vice President

Tom is responsible for the company’s day-to-day field operations and staff development. A veteran of more than 20 years in environmental and construction services, Tom holds an AS degree in civil engineering technology from the New England Institute of Technology. He earned a certificate in civil construction from Wentworth Institute of Technology, and studied in the Peterson School’s oil heat and HVAC technician program.

Ronald Schales

Ronald Schales, Executive Vice President

Ron is responsible for the development, implementation, and oversight of corporate operations, including contract management, proposal development and customer satisfaction/quality assurance.

A graduate of Hartford Community College, Ron served 10 years on active duty with the U. S. Army, working in research and development, including environmental testing. In total, he has 23 years of specialized experience in comprehensive environmental services, including emergency response services for major petroleum spills, indoor air quality issues, microbial mitigation and remediation, asbestos and lead abatement technologies, and biological-chemical decontamination procedures, work practices, and emergency response technologies.

Matthew Iovanni, Chief Sales and Marketing Officer

Matthew oversees all of the company’s sales and marketing efforts, including business development and process management.

A graduate of Keene (N.H.) State College, Matt holds a BS degree in construction management and development. He worked in commercial real estate and real estate development prior to joining TMC as an account manager in 2007.

At TMC, he has worked with clients to develop programs aimed at containing costs and reducing overall environmental liability exposure. Matt opened new lines of business and gained entry into new markets throughout the Northeast Region.

Mark Haynes

Mark Haynes, Chief Operating Officer

Mr. Haynes has 21 years of direct experience in the environmental field.  As a former executive at ECS, he oversaw the company’s 12 business units and managed day-to-day operations and annual budgets.  Mr. Haynes was also responsible for corporate due diligence services, and in this capacity worked directly with major financial institutions.  Additionally, he handled large petroleum accounts for Warren Equities/Drake Petroleum and Irving Oil relating to asset management, remediation and cost recovery.  Mr. Haynes’ additional experience has included the inspection, testing, design, remediation, and closure of hundreds of releases of oil and hazardous materials at sites throughout the Northeast.  He has managed personnel providing consulting services related to industrial and regulatory compliance for several educational institutions, health care facilities, and state office buildings throughout his career.

Mr. Haynes’ experience also includes responding to incidents involving releases of oil to residential properties, commercial properties, and roadways that involve heating oil and other petroleum products.  He is well-versed in conventional cleanup methods, state regulatory notification, and assessment and remediation requirements and policy holder/insurer concerns.   He has coordinated, overseen, and conducted initial response actions that determined the potential extent of impact and allowed for the development  of a pragmatic work-scope to address the release. 

Mr. Haynes managed a contract with the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (MassDEP) for Emergency Response/Immediate Response Action Support.  The services provided to the MassDEP under this contract were Limited IRA Assessment, Source Area Remediation, and Groundwater and Soil Treatment Systems.  He also managed a contract with the Massachusetts Operational Services Division (OSD) for Environmental and Maintenance Diagnostic Testing Services.

Dean Soultanian

Dean Soultanian, Director of Proposal Development

Dean is responsible for cost estimating and bidding for large public and private projects. Prior to joining TMC, he worked for 17 years at GZA, serving as the chief estimator and as a senior project manager.

A graduate of Wentworth Institute of Technology, he holds a BS degree in mechanical engineering technology and has expertise in cost estimating and scheduling, cost control and forecasting, remedial engineering, environmental monitoring, and hazardous waste disposal.

He has extensive experience with public-sector bids and proposals, as well as with large governmental task orders and indefinite quantity contracts. Dean’s knowledge of design, fabrication, and operation of soil and groundwater remediation systems; tank installation and removal; and on-site remedial construction projects enables him to develop innovative, competitively priced solutions for design/build opportunities.

Working on the Central Artery/Big Dig in Boston as well as projects for universities and other high-profile clients, Dean is well versed in the design and mechanical concepts involved with oil recovery systems, asbestos abatement, treatment and stabilization of soil, groundwater treatment and/or disposal, and sampling/analysis of suspect materials.
