TMC Helps Keep Paper Mill Productive

This new line of service, including both online and offline services and automated / robotic cleaning tools, have proven to complement and enhance our current service offerings.
TMC was recently asked to perform several tasks for a major outage event at a local paper mill in Glen Falls, NY. From vacuuming, jack hammering and water blasting I.D fans to remote control 3-D cleaning of the spent tank, a crew of 25 trained technicians was on site to tackle the scope of work assigned to us.
The spent tank was heavy in sulfate fumes and a normal confined space entry would have been out of the question without having to go to forced air. With our remote control 3-D tools, TMC was able to reduce the sulfate fumes without entry. The 3-D tool was lowered from a small man way at the top of the tank and with 85 gallons per minute at 10,000 PSI; the remote control tool did its job - avoiding any potential human injury.
The I.D fans from the boilers proved to be a challenge. Many of the ports and access doors were covered over and full of hardened fly ash. Conscious of safety protocols, TMC crews worked diligently to remove over 60 yards by hand as well as vacuuming hardened fly ash. Once the fly ash was removed and clear from any hazards, we entered the I.D fans with 20,000 PSI water blasting guns and removed build up on the fan blades. This enabled the fans to run true and balanced.
With over 1,300 man hours of worked performed, TMC maintained a zero injury record. As we grow and expand this service line, TMC fully expects to become the premier company for industrial cleaning projects.
